On February 15, Italian Jannik Sinner , world number one tennis player, accepted, under a "settlement agreement" concluded with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), a three-month suspension, until May 4, 2025. An outcome that created controversy. In the tennis world and far beyond.

Asked by Ben Rothenberg , Norwegian Casper Ruud (world No. 5) explained in comments reported by L'Équipe: "I'm sorry for Jannik. He will miss 4 of the 9 Masters 1000 (Indian Wells, Miami, Monte-Carlo and Madrid) for something he didn't do intentionally. So I hope he keeps his head up. Personally, I'm always on his side. I think it's a joy to watch him play and I hope the three months go by quickly for him. It's just sad for him and for tennis as a sport, when the world No. 1 goes through an ordeal like that," he added.
